KLC Academic Information

○ Attendance  (출석)

• Being late 4 times (more than 15 minutes) is equivalent to one absence. (지각 4회(15분 이상) 시에는 결과 1번과 동일하다.)
• If a student is absent for more than 30% of the total class days, they cannot progress to the next level. (결석이 수업일수의 30% 초과되면 다음 급으로 진학할 수 없다.)

※ If absences exceed 30% of the total class hours (i.e., more than 60 hours), the student will be held back regardless of grades.  (결석이 수업일수의 30%인 60시수를 넘겼을 경우, 성적과 상관없이 유급된다.)

※ If a student is absent for more than 5 consecutive days without notifying the homeroom teacher or the office, they will be expelled regardless of the reason, and their visa will be canceled.( 반담임과 사무실에 연락하지 않고 장기간(5일 이상)결석할 경우, 사유에 상관없이 퇴학 처리되며 비자 또한 취소된다.)

○ Grades (성적)

• Grades are based on the final exam, attendance, and assignments.(성적은 기말고사 시험 성적과 출석, 과제 등으로 평가된다.)
• If a student scores below an average of 60 on the final exam, they cannot advance to the next level. (기말고사 성적이 평균 60점 미만이면 다음 급으로 진학할 수 없다.
• Students who score 60 or above on the final exam, maintain at least 70% attendance, and are recommended by their instructor can apply for a level-skipping exam. (기말고사 성적 평균 60점 이상, 출석률 70% 이상, 담당 강사의 추천을 받은 학생은 월반시험에 응시할 수 있다.)

※ If cheating is detected during any exam, the student will be immediately removed from the exam room and receive a score of 0 for that subject. (모든 시험에서 부정행위 발견 즉시 해당 학생을 퇴실시키며 해당 과목은 0점 처리된다. )

○ Completion 수료

• Students can complete the course if they score an average of 60 or higher and have at least 70% attendance. (평균점수가 60점 이상이며, 출석률이 70% 이상일 때 수료할 수 있다.)

○ Repeating & Re-enrollment  (유급 및 재등록)

• Students with an average score below 60 or who are absent more than 30% of the total class days will not be able to complete the course and will only receive a transcript. (중간고사와 기말고사 성적을 합해서 평균 60점 미만이거나 결석이 수업일수의 30% 초과인 자는 이수할 수 없으며 성적표만 발급된다.)
• Students who applied for purposes other than Korean language training or who disturb the class cannot re-enroll. (한국어 어학연수 외의 목적으로 신청하였거나 수업진행에 방해가 되는 자는 재등록 할 수 없다)

○ Disciplinary Regulations (징계규정)

• If a student violates school rules or center regulations, the situation will be sufficiently discussed with the student, and if necessary, disciplinary action may be taken following a meeting with all teachers. (학생이 학칙과 센터 규정 위반 시 해당 학생들의 입장과 상황에 관해 충분히 상담을 진행하고, 필요한 경우 전체 교사회의의 논의 등의 절차를 거쳐 학생을 징계할 수 있다.)
• Disciplinary actions include warning, caution, and expulsion. Two cautions lead to one warning, and two warnings result in expulsion. Tuition will not be refunded in the case of expulsion. (징계는 주의, 경고, 제적으로 구분한다. 주의 2회시 경고 1회, 경고 2회시 제적에 처할수 있다. 제적의 경우 등록금 반환은 불가하다.)

가. Disciplinary Actions for Misbehavior  (태도불량으로 인한 징계)

ⅰ) Disruptive behavior in class (e.g., poor attitude, not participating in class activities, cheating during exams)  (수업 진행에 방해가 되는 행동을 했을 경우 (예: 태도 불량, 교실 활동 불참, 시험 시 부정행위 등))

ⅱ) Causing serious harm to others (e.g., fraud, theft, violence, disorderly conduct)  (다른 사람에게 심각한 피해를 주었다고 판단되는 경우(예: 사기, 절도, 폭행, 난동 등))

ⅲ) Damaging the reputation of our university or the Korean Language course (e.g., criminal activities, involvement in legal disputes) (본교 한국어교육과정의 명예를 실추시키는 행위를 했을 경우 (예: 범죄 행위나법적 소송에 연루 등))

나. Expulsion Due to Unreported Absences  (무단결석으로 인한 등록 취소)

ⅰ) If a student is absent for more than 10 days without prior notice, the center will notify the Immigration Office of the student’s withdrawal from studies in accordance with Article 19-4 of the Immigration Control Act and cancel the student’s registration. (학생이 사전 연락 없이 10일 이상 장기 결석할 경우, 본 센터는 출입국관리법(제 19조의4)에 따라 해당 학생을 출입국관리사무소에 연수중단자로 통보하고 등록을 취소하게 되어 있다.)

• Students who violate school rules or severely disrupt the classroom environment, or who engage in conduct unbecoming of a student, may be subject to warnings. (학교 규정을 위반했거나, 수업 분위기에 심각한 해를 끼친다고 판단되는 경우, 학생 신분으로서 위반되는 행동 적발 시 경고 조치를 받을 수 있다.)
