International Student Bank Account
All international students can open an account at a Korean bank of their choice. However, setting up an account independently can be challenging, and processes such as transfer limit restrictions and their removal are complex for both locals and foreigners.
To address this, Gangseo University International Education Exchange Institute invites Shinhan Bank, one of Korea’s major banks, at the beginning of each semester to assist students with opening bank accounts.
- Time: Beginning of new semester (March & September)
- Location: International Lounge (Holton Hall 4th floor)
- Cost: Free (20,000 KRW to students who wish to open additional savings account and remove transfer limit)
*Cost, location, and time may vary slightly depending on the bank’s guidelines
