International Student Buddy Program (For 25-2 Freshmen)

The International Education and Exchange Center is conducting the 25-1 Foreign Student Buddy Program.

1. Eligibility

  • Open to Gangseo University undergraduate students & international students (Not eligible: students on leave of absence, extended-term students)
    • First-come, first-served basis (15 Helpers & 15 Helpees)
  • Even if you apply within the deadline, you may not be selected depending on the review results. In such cases, additional candidates may be recruited from the waiting list.

2. Application Period & Orientation

  1. Period: September 5 (Fri) – September 12 (Fri), 2025
  2. Method: Refer to the application link
  3. Result Announcement: September 15 (Mon), 2025 (results will be sent via email)
  4. Orientation: September 16 (Tue), 2025
    • Time and location will be announced via the result notification email.

3. Program Details

  1. Meeting Schedule:
    • On-campus meetings: Every Tuesday, 13:00–14:00 (4 sessions)
    • Off-campus meeting: 1 session (flexible)
  2. Support Provided:
    • On-campus meetings (4 sessions): Lunch provided (meal coupon + drink under 4,000 KRW)
    • Off-campus meeting (1 session): 30,000 KRW support
  3. Awards:
    • 1st Prize: 200,000 KRW
    • 2nd Prize: 100,000 KRW
    • 3rd Prize: 50,000 KRW
      * Awards will be determined based on the submitted activity reports.

4. Program Activities

  1. One-on-one mentoring between Helpers and Helpees, focusing on Korean campus life and academics, with activity report submission.
  2. Matching Principles:
    • Priority for freshmen
    • Same-gender matching preferred
  3. Orientation prior to program start (September 16, 2025, Tue)
    • Guidelines on report writing and important notes
    • Detailed guidance on program activities
  4. Activity reports must be submitted to the Office of International Education after program completion.
